Australian Student Teaching Program
Purpose
The purpose of this program is to provide agricultural education students in the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources at the University of Tennessee the opportunity to obtain a more comprehensive vision of the food and fiber system and global issues which exist in Australia.
Expectations
Students wanting to complete their undergraduate degree in agricultural education are encouraged to take advantage of doing a portion of their student teaching in Broken Hill, New South Wales, Australia. Student teachers will complete the first four to five weeks of their student teaching in a local high school in Tennessee. The remainder of their student teaching (approximately 11 weeks) would be spent teaching agriculture and science in Australia. Scholarships are available for such an experience.
