The CASNR Varsity Visit – SCHOLARSHIP COMPETITION was held last Saturday, November 7, 2009. High School FFA teams were invited from across the state to come and participate in a scholarship contest sponsored by the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources. The day’s events included: breakfast, lunch, CASNR departmental displays, participation in the scholarship competition, a free drawing for a UT jersey, and lots of fun filled activities.
The competition is made up of three areas:
- Exam – winner (Station Camp)
- Communications Activity - winner (Station Camp)
- Creative Activity - winner (Seymour)
The overall scholarship WINNERS were:
1st Place Team and winner of a $5000.00 value scholarship to UT- Knoxville divided among team members.
Station Camp High School from Sumner County, TN
2nd Place Team and winner of a $3750.00 value scholarship to UT –Knoxville divided among team members.
Seymour High School from Sevier County, TN
3rd Place Team and winner of a $2500.00 value scholarship to UT – Knoxville divided among team members.
Gatlinburg Pittman High School from Sevier County, TN
