UNDERGRADUATE: Admission
High school students who plan to study agricultural and extension education at UT Knoxville should get a good background in science, math, and English. A background in agriculture, both in high school and in a work situation, would be an asset for future employment in agricultural and extension education. Students who have completed two years of college work at another institution can usually transfer to UT Knoxville without loss of credits. Students who wish to transfer should complete all basic courses in English, math, the sciences, economics, the humanities, and other required non-agricultural courses during their first two years of college. Many of Tennessee's community colleges have an approved program for students who anticipate transferring to the University and majoring in agricultural and extension education. An advisor in the community college or the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources at UT Knoxville can provide students with a list of necessary courses.
